
Stelios Kazadzis is PI of RACE-ECV and has 23 years of experience in basic and applied research in Atmospheric Physics. He studied Physics at the Department of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Physics Degree, MSc in Environmental Physics and PhD in Atmospheric Physics).
SK has the position of Senior Researcher at the World Radiation Center (WRC) as Leader of the World Optical Depth Research and Calibration Center (WMO) at the WRC of the Physicalisch Meteorologisches Observatorium in Davos, Switzerland. He is a lecturer at ETH Zurich -USYS, MSc program, Institute of Atmosphere and Climate Sciences.
He is a member of the WMO Scientific Advisory Group for Aerosols (WMO), the WMO Expert Team on Measurement Quality and a member of the International Solar Radiation Committee. He has supervised/co-supervising more than 10 doctoral Thesis. He is associate/collaborating researcher at IERSD, National Obs. of Athens and member of the editorial board on Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics Journal.
He has 130 publications in scientific peer reviewed journals and more than 150 in conferences that received 4000 citations [h index = 37]. Since 1997, SK has participated in 40 (14 as PI) funded, 25 (9) European and 15 (5) national (Greek and Swiss) projects.
Main interests are: Aerosol research, solar radiation and solar energy research and applications, atmospheric composition measurements and modeling.
